Good hotel but lack of pre arrival communication which left us very stressed The hotel itself was nice, and the staff were very friendly. Special mention goes to the owner’s daughter, who spoke English well and was very helpful. Once we arrived, everything at the property was good — but the experience leading up to our stay was far more difficult. Because we were arriving at 1 a.m. from Cusco Airport, I wanted to arrange a transfer directly with the hotel to avoid any issues with late-night access, since it is not a 24/7 manned property. When I booked through Agoda, I sent a message requesting a transfer, but received no reply. I chased through Agoda, who only gave me an email and phone number. I then emailed the hotel five times with no response, asked Agoda to chase the owner, but they refused, saying I had to contact the hotel myself. I even sent a note via the hotel’s website message system, again with no reply. Because the booking was non-refundable and non-cancellable, I had no choice but to continue. I then tried WhatsApp, but again received no replies despite chasing three times. When I finally called via WhatsApp, I was repeatedly hung up on with “one moment please.” Eventually, I did manage to speak to the owner, who kindly arranged and confirmed the transfer. However, while on the flight to Cusco, I received another WhatsApp from the owner saying there was too much traffic and asking me to catch an Uber to the hotel — which is impossible from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. I insisted they send the driver, and she eventually agreed. This last-minute uncertainty was very disconcerting. When we met the owner the next day, there was no mention of any of this, no apology, and no acknowledgment of the stress caused. It seemed she assumed that because the transfer eventually happened, everything was fine. But the lack of communication was not acceptable. Our friends, who booked through Hotels.com, had a similar poor experience. They were told a vehicle was waiting, but it never turned up. As far as I know, the owner simply forgot to arrange it, leaving them to find their own way to the hotel at 1 a.m. in the middle of the night. In summary: the hotel itself is good, the staff are friendly, and the owner’s daughter deserves credit for her English and helpfulness. But the communication before arrival was extremely poor, stressful, and unreliable. Despite the positives once you get there, I am not sure I would return given the experience leading up to the stay.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Definitely Recommend! The staff was very kind. The room was very clean. The hotel was in a great location and walking distance to everything. I would recommend bringing some earplugs though to sleep only because it can be loud on the street at night, but that is to be expected everywhere in the hotels in the area. There is a great view of the ruins from the balcony. Breakfast was also great and the hot water was always hot.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Great Family Space and Location, Just Pack Earplugs We stayed in the quaint town of Ollantaytambo for three nights to acclimate to the elevation before heading to Machu Picchu, though in hindsight, two days probably would have been plenty since the town is quite small. Our hotel room was huge and worked out great for our family of four—it was clean, comfortable, and met all our basic needs perfectly. The location was also tough to beat, as we were just a short walk from everything in town and could easily walk right down the hill to the train station. Breakfast was a solid, good start to our days, and the staff were helpful whenever we could track them down, though the front desk was occasionally empty. Just a heads up if you're a light sleeper: our room faced the main street and the windows didn't block out much noise, so definitely pack some earplugs if you end up on the street side.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

A great stay! I can't write a review that will even come close to describe just how amazing this stay was. We only stayed one night, arrived late and left early. In that short time was overwhelmed by how impressed I was with the customer service. Alicia the owner was so welcoming and accommodating. Upon arrival our room was upgraded, Marco one of the employees walked us up the street to a local restaurant that was recommended to us and got us a table. The next morning Marco was at our door at 4:30am on the dot to make sure we were up and drove us to the train station for our 5am train and even had a bagged breakfast with a water, sandwich and fruit. The hotel was in a great location, and the room was basic but very cozy and definitely priced right. Wish our stay was longer.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Hotel is under construction. False advertisement, does not look the same in person. This hotel is under construction and looks nothing like the pictures. We arrived at this location in search of Hotel Refugio Andino. After being given the run around, this hotel used to be Hotel Refugio Andino and is now under construction under a new name. This hotel does not look no where near nice.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Servizio lavanderia e deposito bagagli mentre siete in escursione a Macchiu Picchiu.

Posted on Tripadvisor![]()
